Focus Gate
In short: Focus Gate stores your tasks, settings and focus history in your browser. None of it is ever sent anywhere.
What is stored
- Focus Tasks: names, allowed sites, durations and enforcement modes
- Focus history: sessions, interruptions and time spent
- Your settings
It is stored on your own device, and removing the extension removes it.
What leaves your device
Nothing. Focus Gate has no server and makes no network requests of its own.
What is never done
- No personal data is collected, sold or shared.
- No analytics, tracking, advertising or crash reporting.
- No server run by me ever receives your data.
Permissions, and why

- To see which site a tab is going to, so it can be compared with your allowed sites.
- scripting and access to all sites
- To show the Soft warning or the Delay countdown on a page outside your task. Page content is not read or recorded.
- notifications
- To tell you when a session starts, ends or is interrupted.
- storage
- To keep your tasks, history and settings in your browser.
Changes
If this ever changes, this page will be updated first, with a new date at the top.
