Todoist for Visual Studio

In short: Todoist for Visual Studio talks only to Todoist, using your own account. There is no server of mine, no analytics and no telemetry.

What is stored

  • Your Todoist sign-in token, encrypted with Windows DPAPI under your Windows user and kept out of Visual Studio's roaming settings, so it never syncs to another device
  • The Todoist project attached to each Visual Studio window

It is stored on your own device, and removing the extension removes it.

What leaves your device

Requests go only to api.todoist.com, to read and change your tasks. The Add Todoist task from selection command sends the code you selected to Todoist, because that is the task you are creating. Nothing else reads or sends your code.

What is never done

  • No personal data is collected, sold or shared.
  • No analytics, tracking, advertising or crash reporting.
  • No server run by me ever receives your data.

Access requested

Todoist data:read_write
The only scope requested: enough to read and update tasks, but not delete your account data or access backups. Todoist shows the exact list on its consent screen.

Todoist

Your tasks live in your Todoist account, under Todoist's privacy policy. This extension is not affiliated with Todoist.

Changes

If this ever changes, this page will be updated first, with a new date at the top.
